Brain in Hand produces assistive technology for people with conditions such as Asperger's High Functioning Autism, Acquired Brain Injury and Ischemic Stroke that impairs executive functions of the brain. Brain in Hand assists users to identify situations where they have difficulty, plan responses in advance and have instant access to these through smartphone or tablet. Users can create and update their own schedules and add in lists of predicted problems and possible solutions. Through an anxiety monitoring "Traffic Light" system, users can indicate their level of anxiety by pressing red, amber or green on their smartphone. When a user experiences high anxiety, they can receive direct support from a mentor when they need it most. The owners claim that their product is based on well-established therapeutic principles such as CBT, solution focussed therapy, and recovery based rehabilitation. Brain-in-Hand qualifies under the Enterprise Initiative Scheme (EIS) which allows individual investors to gain tax breaks against their original investment and any profits (or losses) that are made.
