Chama cha Viziwi Tanzania (CHAVITA), or the Tanzania Association of the Deaf, was established in 1983 to facilitate a better future for Deaf people in Tanzania. It promotes economic empowerment by connecting Deaf individuals with resources such as capital, training, and income-generating activities, while also advocating for sign language development and usage.
